Construction and Non-IC Rating: This 6" 120V New Work Non-IC rated recessed housing is made from high quality steel. In fact the commercial grade A welded steel is the highest quality metal available for the construction of recessed housings. This ensures you get the longest lasting housing possible. A Non-IC rating means that this housing is not safe to make direct contact with insulation and is generally not used in homes with insulation. If you do have insulation you will need an IC rated housing which can be found here.
Adjustable Socket Bracket and UL Listing: This 6" Non-IC rated new work recessed can features an adjustable socket bracket that allows the use of different lamp types and sizes as well as proper and consistent lamp positioning. This fixture features an UL listing for damp locations, as well as its feed through wire system. This means you can install this housing in almost any room in the house. Perfect for bedrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms.
Safety and Features: With quality and safety in mind, this 120V new work housing features a built-in aluminum reflective shield to draw heat away from the UL Certified Medium Base socket. A built-in thermal protector will shut the light off in the case of improper bulb installation. Also included are adjustable socket plates that allow you to adjust the placement of the medium base socket to better hide the bulb from view.
This housing is designed to use a traditional halogen PAR/BR bulb, but it can be upgraded to a high efficiency LED bulb. Please check out our LED bulbs.
